*Foam Bath Letters- For a weekly letter craft. You can buy them on Amazon here.

* Newspaper or plastic party tablecloth- To keep your table protected when things can get messy.

*Amazon paper—So, do you know how when you get an Amazon or Walmart package, and it’s stuffed with brown paper? Yeah, keep that!! I use this for everything: painting, finger paints (although fingerpaint paper is excellent for that, too), stickers, and decorations. If I’m not using construction paper, I’m using Amazon paper. I think I’m a little obsessed. I even have my mom saving her paper for me.

*Glue- I like to have glue sticks and liquid school glue on hand. Sometimes, school glue is better for some projects, and it’s good to have kids practice with sticks and school glue. Their little hands and fingers are learning how to move and control things. It takes practice to squeeze the right amount of glue AND control where you want to dab it on the paper. It might get a bit messy, but if you guide them and remind them not to squeeze too hard, you only need a little spot of glue; they’ll get the hang of it.

*Scissors and safety scissors—You’ll need scissors, of course, but there will also be cutting activities for the littles to practice their cutting skills—another excellent fine motor activity.

*Bulletin board letters—I use these for a cut-and-paste activity every week. You don't need to use these, though. You can make your own letters or have your child write the letter on paper instead.

** Binders and sheet protectors—I have a 1-inch binder that I use as my kids' handwriting book. I use the sheet protectors like laminating sheets. I stick two letter tracing worksheets back to back in one sheet protector and throw them in the binder: boom, handwriting book. Just use a dry-erase marker and a paper towel as an eraser. I also have their name practice and a few trace-the-lines worksheets in there. You can also use the sheet protectors for the Play-Doh mats.

*Shaving Cream—This is a fantastic sensory activity; the kids have fun cleaning up afterward, too!

*Folders—I use folders to keep my prepped stuff together and organized for the week. I have five folders for Monday through Friday. (When I’m organized, that is.) You can’t have too many folders.

*Velcro Dots- I use these for learning games and to make things, like my calendar.

* Painter's tape—Another obsession of mine. How I love painter's tape. It doesn’t ruin any surfaces! I use it to hold newspaper down on the table and then to hold down the corners of the Amazon paper so that when my kids are creating their projects, the paper isn’t sliding all over the place. When they're done, I just cut the tape off the edges and use more painter's tape to hang up their beautiful work all over the walls of the house! It peels off the walls easily if you need to make room for more creations to display!

*Hot glue gun- For those more involved projects.

If going out and finding all this stuff, printing everything out every week, and prepping projects are too time-consuming, you can always purchase a monthly supplies and materials box from my Howard Homeschool store. You will find everything that you need for the month ready to go. Everything is printed, everything is prepped, and you have all the supplies you need, so all you have to do is focus on a wonderful teaching/learning experience for you and your child/children. A handwriting binder with laminated sheets and a personalized name practice worksheet for your child are included. Laminate Play-Doh mats and a special birthday gift can also be found in your child’s birthday month box. More details and pricing are coming soon.

I hope all of this information wasn’t too overwhelming. If you need help or support, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
